The ASP is a comprehensive search and hosting platform that allows users to rapidly filter and review their electronic file population for discovery and production purposes. Since the launch of DocHunter in 2003, Daegis’ in-house product development team has constantly worked to upgrade the product to leverage advancements in technology. To that end, DocHunter Version 3.3 includes many enhancements designed to allow the end-user and the Daegis Project Management team to efficiently navigate and manipulate large datasets. Some of the developments include: an enhanced tool to gather metrics for any subset of data in the population; an increased flexibility when searching and exporting data; automatically generated exception reporting; a streamlined administrative interface and enhanced group security. In addition to these features, Daegis has also developed several backend processes that continue to improve the overall performance of DocHunter. In addition to DocHunter Version 3.3, Daegis is proud to release DHCollect. DHCollect enables the user to selectively target and collect documents from custodians' hard drives and other media including network shares. The application allows the collection specialist to create a catalog file into which DHCollect imports the custodian’s file metadata. This includes filenames, folders, file attributes, file timestamps and other file system information. The collection specialist can then identify a subset to acquire via a simple folder tree and advanced searching and sorting. When the collection specialist and custodian are satisfied that all relevant documents have been discovered and selected, DHCollect makes an exact copy of the selected data, being careful to preserve the maximum available file system metadata. DHCollect calculates MD5 and SHA1 hashes to verify the integrity of the data throughout the process. DHCollect compliments the Encase product line by providing an alternative first-line review platform for culling files from forensic images.
